Town Hall Seattle says
American Muslims have been a part of the American story since our country’s foundation. They are a critical part of the diversity that lends to America’s singular strength and identity; yet, Islamaphobia is spreading. Hateful rhetoric by commentators and political candidates has contributed to increasing frequency of anti-Muslim hate crimes. Islam in the Public Square brings together local area leaders who seek to build understanding and tolerance across ethnic and faith lines. Join this discussion of the issues, misunderstandings and fears that divide us with the goal of finding ways that the greater Seattle community can work together for peace and justice.

Speakers include:

- Mohamed Jawad Khaki of Ithna-asheri Muslim Association of the Northwest (IMAN)
- Mahmood Khadeer of MAPS (Muslim Association of Puget Sound)
- Dr. Mark Markuly, Dean of the School of Theology at Seattle University
- Bishop Greg Rickel, Diocese of Olympia
