#Black Shutdown Seattle

Time Out says
So far the people in power haven't been listening to the demands of black people in Seattle. Poverty, police violence, gentrification, mass incarceration, lack of social services, and other injustices continue while politicians continue to do just enough to try to quiet us. And yet we are still struggling to survive and have our humanity respected.
On March 21, we are going to protest and disrupt business as usual in downtown Seattle. Details of specific actions will be told on the day of the protest. Fellow black people are encouraged to join this protest and show everyone how powerful we are when we have power in numbers. Black people who are trans*, queer, disabled, and/or homeless are strongly encouraged to come out.
FOR THOSE WHO WILL PHYSICALLY BE AT THE PROTEST: This action is metro accessible from the light rail train or from bus stops at 3rd and Pine and 4th and Pine. This will be an outdoor event that will require moving for moderate distances.
FOR THOSE WHO WON'T BE ABLE TO COME TO THE PROTEST:If you cannot come out to the protest in person you can still participate by following the twitter hashtag #UASRseattle and #BlackShutdown to stay informed about the protest and to retweet events from the protest.
PLEASE BRING:
-Warm clothing
-Food and water
-A protest buddy
-Your personal struggle with being black in the Seattle area
Let's show the people of Seattle what we mean when we say that All Black Lives Matter!!
