Burning Potluck: Dead President's Day February 16th At Bad Jimmy's Brewery.
Advertising
Time Out says
This next Monday is (Dead) President's Day and some of us may have the day off but I know others don't (Boooo!). Hopefully a lot of you have been able to buy your tickets for the playa already and we should celebrate that!
This week, let's bring a dish associated with a president. Cherry pie for George Washington! Jelly Beans for St. Ronnie the Magnificent! Or maybe something with peanuts for Jimmy Carter? I'm sure all 44 of them enjoyed copious amounts of bacon….
The Wright House & Refuge is undergoing major plumbing surgery so I'll be hosting at Bad Jimmy's Brewing Co. in Ballard. I've brought their beer to past potlucks and y'all liked 'em and this would be a great opportunity to enjoy their other brews. The Habanero ale is amazing but a wee bit spicy. I've reserved the upper level for the food. There are stairs going up but I will assist anyone that has trouble with them.
Bad Jimmy's is located at 4358B Leary Way NW, Seattle, WA 98107 and the potluck starts at 6PM and will run till midnight. Tasters are $2, a flight of four is $8, pints are $5 and growler fills are $7. Cider from Seattle Cider is also on tap but it's not growerable. Note that growler fills can't be guzzled on the premises.
Oh yeah, they have a popcorn maker there do and they'll have it available for us. :)
Joining me this month as co-host will be my sweetie Kristin, aka The Little Princess. :) This will be her first Burn night and I'm hoping we both can go to future potlucks in the future.
Because this is at a brewery and not a full service bar, it'll be similar to a Re-Bar night but with some differences.
Absolutely NO outside alcohol may be brought in (like the Re-Bar), but you can bring in food and soda.
Minors are allowed and this is a dog friendly establishment. You have to be 21+ to purchase beer, natch.
Smoking is allowed outside 25 feet away from the building. I wouldn't recommend pot use for this week.
Bad Jimmy's will also be open for the general public, so absolutely NO douchebaggery! Let's practice radical inclusion and dispel some myths about the Burning Man community. :)
Bring your plates and utensils and let's really go out of our way to Leave No Trace afterwards.
Many thanks to Bad Jimmy's for reserving a space for us!
