For the past year or so, yours truly has been presenting vintage music at the Mercury. It has been an adventurous experiment, one that is drawing to a close. This next installment of DEAD 'N' GONE will be the last one. Join us before DEAD 'N' GONE is truly dead 'n' gone! DEAD 'N'GONE is a special night of vintage acoustic blues. Yours truly will present the wide range of pre-WWII blues, from the front porch to the back alleys, from small-town barrelhouses to big city night-clubs, Delta blues, Piedmont blues, country blues, New Orleans jazz blues, plus rags, hokum, jugbands, and the pre-blues styles of early African-American music. With songs of sorrow, heartbreak, death, depression, drugs, murder, and more from souls laid bare from long-time suffering, goth music doesn't hold a candle to the darkness of the early blues.
