Time Out says

GHOST GALLERY PRESENTS “ECHOES" Paintings by Jason Lajeunesse " 'Echoes' is a collection of paintings that have been inspired by my decision to pursue a life lived in sobriety. It also chronicles my exploration with painting as an expressive medium. Creative thinking and painting has become a renewed form of catharsis for me. Here in this space, I have spent a great deal of time trying to better understand and accept my personal history, while at the same time exploring the medium as an extension of a constant inner dialogue. In the months leading up to the exhibit, the work has undergone a sort of de-evolution. The paintings have simplified in the material application and visual content, taking greater abstract shape, while subsequently becoming more personal and contemplative. I have been finding restraint in my approach, and a fondness for the bare materials and negative space. I am honored to have been given this opportunity to show for the first time at the always inspired, Ghost Gallery. All artist proceeds are to benefit MusiCares, a non-profit that has helped countless musicians struggling with drug and alcohol addiction among other things. Jason Lajeunesse." Join us for an artist reception on Thursday, Feb. 12th from 5-9pm during the Capitol Hill Art Walk. Exhibit will be on view through March 9th, 2015 http://ghostgalleryart.com http://www.grammy.org/musicares
