Encanto Holiday Concert With José Iñiguez says
Join EWU President Mary Cullinan on Saturday, Nov. 28, for a concert at Seattle's Benaroya Hall in support of education. Proceeds from the concert support first-generation student scholarships. The MC for the evening will be Enrique Cerna from KCTS/Channel 9.

For this intimate concert, Tenor José Iñiguez and Classical Pianist Jeremy Neufeld will be performing their Encanto Program. Iñiguez has been nominated for the Governor’s Individual Art’s Heritage Award for 2015 and will be competing in the Carolyn Bailey and Dominick Argento vocal competition in Indianapolis in January 2016. The opening performance will be Mariachi Huenachi, recipient of the Golden Apple Award and is recognized as the best mariachi music program in the state of Washington. The director, Ramon Rivera, was awarded the 2014 Washington State Jefferson Award.

What is Encanto: A cultural journey that pairs the ethereal beauty of opera aria and classical piano with charm of mariachi bolero.

Highlights from the evening’s diverse program include Vesti la Giubba (pagliacci), Una furtiva lagrima (L’elisir d’amore) works from Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi and classical piano works from Liberace and Ernesto Lecuona.
