Bios of our featured poets:
Lydia Swartz is a flaneur, pornographer, poet, novelist, & spoken word performer. By day, she is a propaganda minister for a health insurance provider. She lives with her wife of 13 years & a fucking menagerie. Lydia is a practicing Buddhist, but her religion is flanerie.

Joannie Stangeland’s new poetry collection, In Both Hands, is available from Ravenna Press, which also published Into the Rumored Spring. Joannie’s the author of two poetry chapbooks: Weathered Steps and A Steady Longing for Flight, which won the Floating Bridge Press Chapbook Award.

Joannie’s poems have appeared in Valparaiso Poetry Review, Crab Creek Review, Tulane Review, Painted Bride Quarterly, and other publications, as well as in the Rose Alley Press anthologies Limbs of the Pine, Peaks of the Range and Many Trails to the Summit. Her poems have also traveled on Seattle-area buses.

Joannie has been a Jack Straw Writer and has taught at Seattle’s Richard Hugo House and LiTFUSE. By day, she works as a writer at a software technology company and helps out at the family winery.

Ryan Crawford lives in Seattle, Washington, working at a company dedicated to tobacco cessation and weight loss services. His poetry and short stories have been published in Fragments, Censor This!, Mastadon Dentist, Cerebral Catalyst, and Gay City: Volumes 3 and 4. He believes in marinara, recycling, and the power of acceptance.
