Film The Police: A Workshop On Being Your Own Media

Independent and guerrilla media have proven vital across the country in documenting protests and the behavior of police. We believe that all people have the power to be their own media, their own outlet, their own voice. This workshop will be a "how-to" focusing on three aspects: recording events, interactions between police and independent media persons, and use of event footage. We welcome documentary film maker Christy X of Guerrilla Films as she shares her expertise and lived experience with us. Please bring your recording device of choice if you have one (smartphones are great for this). Some devices will be available for folks to try and explore as well. This is a free event. Pipsqueak is a family friendly alcohol and drug free space. Outside Agitators 206 has four points of unity, the third being that "we don’t directly speak to corporate media, nor do we need them. We are our own voice." We will tell our own stories.
