We're Fort Loveless, a five-piece indie-folk group from the Pacific NW. Our music pits intimate lyrics and punchy harmonies against a backdrop of modern folk rock. The resulting sound is both fresh and classic, incorporating elements from a broad spectrum of genres including Americana, alt-country, and modern synth-pop.
We just recently finished our first album, "Empty-Worded Verses", which we are proud to have recorded and mixed and produced without the support of a record label. We owe a tremendous debt to our good friend Rob Hammond for his hard work and dedication to the project, and for all the time and energy he could have spent having more fun doing just about anything else. We're also deeply grateful to the Nash family for their relentless generosity, and for allowing us to use their studio, their instruments, their equipment, and their home. While we're proud of how our first project turned out, we're also humbled both by how much we learned from the process and by how much we have yet to learn. And while it has proven difficult at times to coordinate our music-making with the daunting enterprise of pretending to be high-functioning adults, we're gaining momentum. We're looking forward to playing some shows around the northwest in the coming months. And we've eagerly begun writing the next batch of songs with a renewed fervor and a stronger sense of musical direction.
