Town Hall Seattle says
Absorb the rich and varied musical history of Iran in an immersive cultural experience. Hamsaz Ensemble—a unique multinational group brought together by contemporary composer Ali Samadpour–will showcase a small selection of pieces from five of Iran’s historical periods, going back roughly 700 years and ending with modern day compositions. This multiple-stage performance, carefully curated by respected Iranian scholars, will feature singing, dancing, and percussive elements common to each era, and is a rare opportunity to see and hear Persian performance as it was meant to be experienced—in a relaxed and informal den of pillows with friends, family, even era-specific refreshments.
