Saturday, February 25 12:30-2:30 pm
at 8 Limbs Capitol Hill
with Nancy Hwang

This workshop is for teachers, students and all those who wish to deepen their practice in yogic philosophy; those who want to understand the difference between spirituality and dogma in yogic teachings.

We’ll explore the ancient texts of the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Bhakti Sutras, and The Upanishads and how they apply to everyday life. We will discuss the scriptures in true Satsang (spiritual gathering) form and learning how these teachings can unfold in our lives.

There will be a short asana practice towards the end of the workshop as well as mantra interlaced throughout. Mantra is the original way of transferring knowledge in this lineage of yoga.

Feel free to bring writing utensils, a tape recorder, yoga mat, and the willingness to learn.

The teachings will be referenced from the following books; feel free to bring a copy if you have any of them:

Yoga Sutras: translation from Swami Satchidananda
Bhagavad Gita: translation from Swami Satchidnanda
Bhakti Sutras: translation from Prem Prakash
The Upanishads: translation from Eknath Easwaran

About the instructor: Nancy is a graduate of Laughing Lotus in San Francisco. She has a 200 Lotus Flow certification as well as a 50 hour Advanced Philosophy and 25 hour Social Justice Yoga also from Laughing Lotus.
