Folk-artist and singer-songwriter D. Mangione has been playing from her native Birmingham, Alabama for the past 12 years. Her art work is featured on her CD's; whimsical, free, and original at its best. She and her guitar have performed at hundreds of shows across the Southeast. D. is a strong advocate for the protection of life and the endurance of the human spirit. Her songs highlight the strong intensity of life, its hardness and its beauty. D's music has been described as not only folk or blue- grass, but a mix of cowboy-girl and punk with an honest rhythm. Her current ambition is to open for performers that have inspired her own music over the years.
