Puget Soundkeeper Alliance says
Come join Puget Soundkeeper in our mission to clean up trash in Puget Sound! Saturday, September 17th is International Coastal Cleanup Day, which is the largest global volunteer project in service to our rivers, lakes and oceans. Last year, approximately 800,000 people collected over 18 million pounds of trash worldwide! Puget Soundkeeper will be hosting cleanups at several locations around Seattle, including Centennial Park, Alki Beach, and West Seattle, among others. Puget Soundkeeper will be collecting data regarding the trash we collect, which we then send to Ocean Conservancy to compile and publish a snapshot of what is floating in the ocean and washing up along the shoreline around the world.
