Meditation is a widely utilized contemplative practice that supports our mental, physical and emotional bodies. It has the power to influence every aspect of our life and provides us with techniques to help deal with inevitable challenges. Mentally we gain concentration and mindfulness. Physically meditation reduces stress, a major component of disease. Emotionally we learn how to be with the ebbs and flows that are a guaranteed part of our existence by learning to rest our mind in a place of comfort and ease. Meditation’s continued success is due to its universal appeal to people of any culture or spirituality. It’s accessible to anyone living in a body, with a thinking mind.

This series offers a basic look at meditation including; comfort, concentration, breath and mindfulness techniques. We will address questions and difficulties that arise from our practice and offer simple solutions so that meditation is practical and accessible to everyone. Students will complete the series with a solid foundation in meditation and techniques they can continue to use on their own.
