European style games may have less of a theme to them, but they make up for it with innovative game strategies. Most European style games involve indirect player conflict, where the object is to block other players from being able to do their optimal move on their turn. Tonight, we are going to showcase some of the European-style games that many people first played which got them interested in playing more board games. We will be playing:
- Ticket to Ride where you build a railroad empire across the United States.
- Carcassonne where you place tiles down to create cities and roads to score points.
- Settlers of Catan, a now classic household board game where you build settlements to collect resources. The more resources you collect, the quicker you can turn those settlements into cities or expand your settlements to win the game.

This is a great event to learn some of the more light-weight games in this genre.
