JAKE Talks presenters will share compelling insights on: -Loving more than two people: Poly relationships and sex positivity (Tobi Hill-Meyer) -Queer Strip: Toward Community Powered Self-Love (Liz Cruz) -Love in the modern age...with dating apps (Michael James Schneider) -The impact on love and marriage from the 2012 WA marriage equality movement (Chieftovia Odood) -A story of long-suffering love, and the film being made about that story. We invite you to Joyfully Awaken to Knowledge & Empowerment. *** Inspired by the online series of "TED Talks", JAKE was conceived to spotlight the voices of speakers and thought-leaders who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) that can intimately speak to the unique social & cultural experiences we celebrate as a community alongside our allies in an entertaining yet inspiring and accessible format. Beyond a series of provocative talks with an LGBT narrative, JAKE is an innovative and interactive experience including live DJ and/or performances with an eye-catching stage design reminiscent of TED connecting the speaker to the audience while captivating our attention. Drawing from the vast talent of our community, JAKE always includes in some form an aspect of art + music + design + film relevant to our culture.
