About the class::
Jazz Funk, also called Street Jazz, borrows a lot of movement from other dance styles. From ballet-modern-hip hop- to lyrical, jazz funk incorporates little bits and pieces of other dance genres and wraps into a funky style that is both fun and expressive! This will be a progressive series that will advance over the course of the 5 week series. All levels will benefit from this class, but beginners are welcome and encouraged!

Please note this is a progressive class, by the 3rd class of the 5wks series program, dropin dancers with some dance experience is a plus, but are not required as we are still an open to all levels, please learn at your own pace. 5wks series purchase are also not transferable or to be credit if missed any classes within that 5wks period from starting date. 3% paypal fee or surchsrges will be added.

About Kristen:
Kristen Grace is a hip hop and jazz funk instructor from with over 11 years experience in the south sound. Currently the Director of The Beat Box: Hip Hop Dance Studio at Studio West Dance Academy, she choreographs for both the senior and junior groups at The Beat Box (EDGE and Beat Box Juniors) and instructs beginning to advanced classes weekly in Olympia. She also teaches Jazz Funk and Hip Hop at Belltown Dance Studio in Seattle, choreographs for Scintillation Showchoir at Wilson High School and Danceblast for Curtis High School in Tacoma, and many other schools and studios throughout Washington .

She has danced with Audacity Cru for 2 years, joining the crew for the WOD LA Finals in 2015. Before Audacity, she danced competitively on her high school dance team (H2Whoa), choreographed for her college team (PLU) and trained with ZeroGravity (DASH Center) and Femme Fatale (Koncrete Studios). She is extremely passionate about bringing new life into the dance community and building dancers into movers who have the skills and confidence to pursue their artistry in whatever capacity they choose.
