LEARN TO PROTECT YOURSELF & OTHERS is a Social Outreach Seattle (SOSea) series of self-defense classes designed for people to begin entry level self-defense and gradually increase their skill level and knowledge through additional classes to better protect themselves and others.

The second official LTPYO self-defense class is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 6 p.m. Doors, 6:30 p.m. LTPYO Self-Defense Class at Neighbours Nightclub (1509 Broadway).

***IMPORTANT****IN THIS CLASS WE WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO USE WHATEVER YOU HAVE ON YOU AS A WEAPON. Are you a student? BRING YOUR BACKPACK. Do you carry a purse. BRING IT. Come to this class dressed as you would in your every day life (attacks do not happen only when you are dressed for the gym). This is going to be a fun one!

Donations will be accepted at door.

These classes are open to LGBTQ and Allied folks, ALL AGES and experience levels. Although SOSea films most of our events for historical or promotional purposes, any individual that does not wish to be filmed can still attend a class. The instructor will ask for those who do not want to appear on camera to identify themselves and we will be sure to note your request.

Social Outreach Seattle (SOSea) LTPYO self-defense classes are instructed by Mac S. McGregor. Mac is a Commissioner on the Seattle LGBTQ commission and is proud to be a voice for civil rights and represent the Transgendered and Gender non-Conforming community at SOSea. He is a member of the Seattle Men's Chorus and a past board member for Seattle Counseling Center. Mac speaks on gender panels and is an educator and activist on gender, sexuality and LGBTQ rights and issues.

Mac is one of the highest ranking martial artist in the world and has always used his extensive martial arts knowledge to empower others to have confidence and live safely. Mac is a world champion martial artist and former U.S. Karate team member. Mac has coached 58 national champions and 29 Junior Olympic champions. He holds Black Belt ranking in 17 different styles of martial artists as well as a certified defensive tactics instructor for law enforcement professionals. Mac has appeared on Ripley's Believe it or Not, The Learning Channel, The Discovery Channel and in "People Magazine" to name a few. Mac now teaches self-defense, martial arts, tai-chi wellness and energy seminars at conferences, businesses & groups all over the world and is a life coach and sought after motivational speaker.
