Uptown Espresso Seattle says
Engine building games start off slow and then gradually you start building a stronger and more efficient game "engine". Towards the end of the game some people are accumulating a crazy amount of points while others are trying to figure out how that happened. A lot of games incorporate this game mechanic and we will be showcasing some of our favorites.

How good are you at pricing gems? Splendor has you collecting gems to use to buy mines, boats or stores to increase your gem prestige. Each card bought decreases your gem cost by one which increases your potential buying power.

San Juan is a great quick card version of Puerto Rico. Each has you buying buildings and plantation to maximize your points.

Suburbia is a great Sim City variant where you are building a city to attract the most people, or for some people, the most money.

Before and during playing a few of these games, we will discuss strategies on how people speed so far ahead to build their engines.
