Lowlands will be releasing their upcoming record The Whale on February 28th at the The Sunset. It will be an epic night of fantastic music that should not be missed. Lowlands- Based in Seattle Wa since 2010, Lowlands has been formed, destroyed, and reformed in the last 4 years. In recent months a rebuilding has happened. New songs written by band leader Tom Rorem have been formed and forged into new likeness. Along with fellow band mates they have created epic sound scapes of emotional highs and lows that speak the human experience. Accompanied with a Decemberist type story telling quality, each song draws out different musical influences. From folk to soul, indie rock to rock and roll Lowlands is an all in one package that delivers in all aspects. Nick Foster- As a songwriter from Seattle, he makes use of a compelling folk and country songwriting style, exploring genres ranging from stripped-down acoustic to indie rock, alt country and blues. Supported by a revolving band of prominent Seattle musicians, the lyrically driven songs are centered in a sincere and earnest tone and punctuated by an unyielding honesty. His ballads contrast a warm and emotive character with a sense of urgency and longing, while more dynamic, full-band numbers offer a sometimes biting attitude. Cloud Person- a 5-piece rock band from Seattle that blends psychedelic, garage, folk, and indie sensibilities into a unique brand of their own.
