The event creator says
Art has proven to be a powerful force for change in our country and world. We want to give Black artists the opportunity to speak out about their experiences, in whatever art form they pursue.

This artist showcase will be held at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in Seattle. Your Seattle and Eastside peers will be performing pieces to empower the black community and explore the different narratives within the black experience! Some performances will include topics like speaking out against racism, police brutality, and the institutional injustices Black communities face in the U.S.

This event will be a fundraiser that empowers, and does not silence, Black students in Seattle.

Admission is free, though we suggest a donation of $5.

All donations will go to Operation Help or Hush, an organization that began out of Ferguson, Missouri, and continues work fighting police brutality and the negative effects of poverty across the US. For more information about Operation Help or Hush, go to operationhelporhush.org.
