Plaza Roberto Maestas Groundbreaking Celebration!

Join us for the historic Plaza Roberto Maestas Groundbreaking Celebration! Friday, March 6th, 2015 11:0am-1:00pm 2524 16th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 Immediately following the groundbreaking celebration will be a reception in our main building. El Centro de la Raza is undergoing a major expansion with the Construction of Plaza Roberto Maestas. This $50M project expands the capacity of El Centro de la Raza to deliver services and builds on existing programming allowing us to more fully address the needs of our target populations. Components of the project include 112 units of transit-oriented, affordable workforce housing, 7 classrooms for our Child Development Center, a 6,000 square foot multi-cultural community center, a 12,900 square foot public plaza, 3,200 square feet of flexible, neighborhood-serving retail including 12 micro-retail start-up opportunities for local small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, 4,500 square foot office space and a commercial kitchen for use by aspiring entrepreneurs. The project will generate over 150 construction, engineering, and design jobs during development and will create 40 or more permanent jobs once complete.
