Red, White & You: Celebrating Maxim's One Year Anniversary says
Maxim's has been under new Management since June 1st 2014. We have done things and celebrated diversity like no body's business. Our motto is, Maxim's offers something for everyone." If you want it come and get it. We have opened doors for those who were rejected elsewhere. We helped create a path for those who have gone on to bigger and better things. In short, we are the community, but without the community there is no Maxim's.

Keep your eyes open for updates to the line up:

True story for those who are still reading: The previous owner of Maxim's made a deal with the current "legal" owner. All we had to do was hold it down for one year (paying bills and rent of course) and after one year the building becomes the property of the new management clean and clear. Unfortunately, we are currently locked in a legal battle, because the previous owner has chosen not to honor the agreement. We have the option to take it to court and fight, or sale the building and settle for a substantial amount of money. Your continued support or lack thereof will definitely sway our decision.

Our goal has always been to obtain Maxim's so that it remains in the community, in the possession of those who will look out for everyone, especially those who look for a place to enjoy themselves within their own community.

Other businesses have tried to bully us out of the space, because they feel our patrons will prevent other "good" businesses from moving in, thereby interfering with Hillman City's ability to mirror Columbia City.

Unfortunately, many who live within the community have chosen locations in Kent, Capital Hill, and other places to spend their time and money. "Overstand" this, without unity, there is no community, and without you, there is no need to maintain Maxim's.

Now you've heard it from the horse's mouth. In celebrating Maxim's, you celebrate our victory and your existence. Our victory is your victory. Gentrification is real...
