Bio:
Rachel Chloé Uttech is one of the top female dancers/choreographers in Seattle. From an early age, Rachel Chloé Uttech felt the fire that music and dance lit inside her. Before beginning her formal training in ballet, jazz and lyrical at age seven, she was doing choreography in her living room to early 90s hits. She remained active in dance throughout her adolescence and began taking classes with Seattle legends like Keri Lee Florentine and Jaret Hughes in high school. After graduating, she was invited to join Breaking Point Dance Company and trained under the direction of Wade Sugiyama & Anna Matuszewski (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis), performing all over the US and Canada. Highlights include an appearance on NBC's "Showtime at the Apollo" and the World Hip Hop Championships. In 2005, she traveled to South America and spent a year teaching hip hop and contemporary at dance academies all over, spreading her love for the genres. While abroad she was a featured performer and choreographer on the prime time TV show Ataké (Telefuturo).

After earning her B.A. from the University of Washington, she relocated to Spain, still performing and teaching hip hop, but with her eyes set on a new style to master: Salsa. There she had the opportunity to perform and train under Nelson Lopez (Escandalo), Diana Montoya (Pablo y Diana) and Anita Santos Rubin (Adrian y Anita), among others. Fast forward to 2012, when Rachel moved back home to Seattle and began Elegancia Explosiva [Explosive Elegance], her own fusion dance company specializing in Latin, hip hop and contemporary styles. She is also the director of Anita’s Ladies Time Seattle, the current World Champions of the Online Salsa Cup, and part of the Adrian & Anita World Team Project.
