Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) says
The Seattle Freeze (n.)
1. The chilly social reception one might get from a polite yet uninterested Seattleite
2. An exaggerated myth about Seattle's character

On the second Thursday of each month, MOHAI hosts Seattle AntiFreeze, a social gathering for people interested in exploring what—besides the Freeze—defines the character of this city. Each month features a different local topic, with guest presentations from some of Seattle's most fascinating individuals and organizations. Meet new people while learning more about the place you live, and together, let's thaw the Seattle Freeze!

For the October 8 edition, speakers will discuss mushroom indentification and foraging. Northwest forests are full of edible fungi in the fall, the trick is knowing which ones are safe to eat! Danny Miller from the Puget Sound Mycological Society will share his fungi knowledge, provide identification tips, and answer mushroom-related questions you've been dying to ask.
