Seattle Poetry Slam says
Seattle Poetry Slam presents an open slam with featured poet, Alex Dang!

About the slam:
Open Slams are open to all. There are three rounds with elimination following each round. There is a three minute time limit per poem, with a ten second grace period.
*Our Slam Season is over, but you can still compete to win the 1st place prize of $25!*

There are only three rules:
Poets must perform their own original work.
No props, costumes or musical accompaniment
Depending on the type of slam, there is a time limit with a ten second grace period.
Five judges are randomly selected from the audience, scoring poets anywhere between 0 to 10.0
High and low scores are dropped, three in the middle are added to give the total score.

Alexander Dang started performing slam poetry at 17 and hasn't slowed down since. He has been on the Portland Poetry Slam nationals team in 2013 and 2014. Combining a firework performance style and intimate writing, Alex has earned his way to becoming the Eugene Poetry Grand Slam Champion in 2014. Though his career has only begun, he has been a TEDx speaker for both University of Oregon and Reno, Nevada, and his chapbook, 'You Can Do Better,' is published through Where Are You Press. You can find him in the best burger spot in town or on a stage near you.
