SHRIEK: A Women of Horror Film Class continues on second Sundays at Naked City Brewery & Taphouse! SHRIEK is a community education series that examines the roles of women in horror films. In November, discussion leaders and horror fanatics Evan J. Peterson and Heather Marie Bartels will help us unpack one of the most exciting (and divisive) horror films of 2015: The Witch!

Special guests from The Cunning Crow Apothecary (our local witch-owned herbalist shop) will be there to provide swag and comments on the film!

The Witch (sometimes spelled The VVitch) is the story of a colonial family suriviving while isolated in the American wilderness. The horror is incredibly intimate and small-scale, which has led some to find it all the more terrifying. Within the first few minutes, the film does something so horrifying that it's even rare in the horror genre. From there, we watch the family turn on each other with accusations of witchcraft, murder, and of course—Black Phillip. Join us Sunday, November 13!
