The event creator says
Please join us at 7pm on Monday, March 30 at Sole Repair on Capitol Hill, for a fundraiser to benefit New Beginnings, a non-profit organization that provides services to those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence - physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.

There will be speakers from organizations throughout Seattle sharing personal stories, successes, and informational literature:

-Elaine Wylie will be speaking to sexual assault again trans* people.

-Myani G, on behalf of City Year, will discuss issues of human trafficking.

-Angeli Bhatt, of API Chaya, will speak to sexual assault issues concerning people of color.

-Yaara Zaslow will share her piece on rape shame from Jezebel.com.

-Takeallah Rivera will read her piece published in "Feminist Wednesday" discussing the sources of sexual assault against black women.

-Erin Pike will read her personal testimony of sexual assault, published in "The Jewish Sound."

-Maya Hampton, a life consultant with "Yes2Joy" will conduct a healing workshop.

Other poets will be present, including RC Meow, Sonya Vatomsky, Liz Wasson Coleman, Kate McKnight, Rowan Rhys and Jocelyn McDonald.

Local artists John Criscitello, Sarah Rosenblatt, Chloe Macho and New York based artist Sarah Conners will be sharing and donating their art.

There will be other special guests, live music, a raffle and a silent auction featuring some incredible donations from across the community.

We hope you can join us for a night of solidarity, sharing, healing, and help us to end the shame and stigma so many survivors face.

Entry is donation only, with all proceeds going to New Beginnings. Suggested donation $10-25. No one turned away for lack of funds.
