Spite House Welcomes You! Ritual Improvisation Night says
On every fifth Tuesday, Spite House changes the rules...
... and a different kind of musical magic happens.
Time and space for the community to converge.
A night of collective creation - all instruments, voices and guests welcome.

How it works: Musicians! Come intending to play exactly how long you wish. Arrive any time between 8 and midnight (tricky set-up? arrive early).
Music is one extended spontaneous set 8:30 to midnight
Ring the Tibetan bell to announce your entry into the musical space, then play/listen continuously till you're too tired.
Full 3.5 hour participation is encouraged.
When you're finished, ring the bell again and exit the area.
After midnight, re-enter the music making if you wish.
[Bathroom breaks ok :-) ]

Doors Open 8:00 pm
Spite House Concerts started in 2013 as a venue for new music. Beloved by Seattle's improvisation communities, the series continues every Tuesday evening. Typically, the evening begins with a set by the house band, then the second set is presented by concert artists selected by a rotating group of curators, local musicians devoted to finding Seattle's most interesting and unique new music. (That happens week 1-4 of each month)

The third set is open to improvisers. Audience members are welcome to bring voices and other instruments. After the concert proper (approx.10:30pm) we form up impromptu duos and small ensembles to create a set of improvised magic.
$20 Donation encouraged but not required (All donations accepted - to support live, local musicians!). Also welcome: donations of food, drink to complement what is always on hand in the kitchen..
