Staghorn Fern Workshop: Wall Mounted, Living Art says
We are delighted to welcome back our beloved Annie Walters!

In this workshop you'll be learning how to mount staghorn ferns on a piece of pine or weathered cedar board. Join Annie, who will guide you in constructing a beautiful, mounted staghorn fern that you can hang in your home. You'll also learn proper care practices for these special plants. This is a hands-on experience so bring a willingness to play, and wear clothes that you're comfortable getting a bit dirty in!

Before you sign up for this workshop, make sure you have the right light conditions in your home: Staghorn Ferns are tropical epiphytes - which means they get their nutrients and water from the air. Mounting them to a piece of wood allows air to circulate around their root system and become a living piece of art for your home. They need bright indirect or diffused light exposure. The best rooms for staghorns face South or East. North facing rooms are fine as long as the light exposure is unobstructed. They should not be exposed to direct sunlight, so West facing rooms that get long periods of direct sun are to be avoided.

A staghorn fern, a new pine or weathered cedar board, and all mounting *supplies are included in the cost of the class and will be provided.
* STUDENTS: Please bring a hammer if you have one.
I'll have 3 hammers on-hand to share otherwise.
