This class is an intensive study of stand-up comedy. Love stand-up comedy? Think it would be fun to try your hand at it? Then this is the class for you. Ron Reid is a pro with years of experience in the field. In this class, you’ll learn proven ways to make strangers laugh, plus proper microphone technique, use of the stage, breathing and anxiety reduction skills, centering and body language. Come and learn about how to move your dream forward and try your hand at becoming a stand-up comedian.

About the instructor: Ron Reid performed stand-up comedy for more than 15 years, touring the country and appearing on national television. He is currently the Producer of the Seattle International Comedy Competition and a partner in the comedy talent agency Artists West Entertainment.

Ron Reid has taught Stand-Up Comedy classes in the Drama Department at Skagit Valley College and the Continuing Education Division of Seattle Central Community College. He taught in both the Seattle and Shoreline public schools and holds a current Washington State teaching certificate. He is a provider and trainer for Washington State’s Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST). He holds a BA in English Education from the University of Maryland, with graduate work at Seattle U and City University. He also studied acting and directing at HB Studio in New York City.
