Join us for free Summer at SAM events from July 9 - August 29. Thursdays from 6 - 8pm and Saturdays from 10am - 3pm.

Kickoff events:

SAM Performs 6–6:15 pm
Gansango Music & Dance Company
Summer at SAM kicks off with the stunning talent of a multicultural group of international dancers and musicians! Enjoy a lively performance by Gansango Music & Dance Company presenting traditional and contemporary dance and music from West Africa.

SAM Performs 6:30, 6:50, & 7:30 pm
Get inspired for Summer at SAM yoga on Saturday mornings by watching Robin Martin and Thomas Eagen creatively blend acrobatics and yoga to perform unbelievable tandem balancing acts. Trust, breath and fitness are combined to make this challenging and exciting partner practice.

SAM Performs 6:30–8 pm
Art of Jazz: D'Vonne Lewis' Limited Edition
Join us for the lively and soulful sounds of D'Vonne Lewis' Limited Edition with African Drums. Come listen to some of the best local jazz, plus sign up to win prizes from KPLU! Sponsored by KPLU 88.5 and Earshot Jazz.

SAM Creates 6–8 pm
"How Ghosts Sleep - 3D Edition" art activity with Tariqa Waters
Express your inner inventiveness and transform PACCAR Pavilion installation artist Sam Vernon's graphic prints and intricate illustrations into 3D works of art. Work with materials from How Ghost Sleep: Seattle (Hive) to create your own 3D sculptural narrative with artist Tariqa Waters.

Spend the rest of the evening drawing! Capture the sculptures, plant life, and beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound through self-guided drawing.

My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Public Tour
6:45 pm
My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers, and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art.

5:45–7:45 pm
Grab a bite and have a drink from Taste and some of Seattle’s best food trucks.
