This 30-minute documentary addresses the persecution and violence that transgender folks face in public bathrooms. Drawing on stories of people who have been harassed, arrested or beaten for trying to use the bathroom that fits their gender identity, the video focuses on the right to access public spaces. It also discusses questions of legal rights and health effects through interviews with lawyers, social workers and activists. Created by transgender videographer Tara Mateik and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, an organization committed to ending gender identity discrimination.

Guest Speaker: Tobi Hill-Meyer
After the film, Tobi Hill-Meyer, a transgender activist from Gender Justice League, will share information on the threat posed by transphobic Initiative 1515. Join the discussion about to stop this attack and enable equal bathroom access for all.

$3-$5 door donation. Flavorful dinner, with vegan options, served at 6:30pm for $8.50 donation. Everyone welcome.
