The Heart Of Summer With Tai Hubbert says
Join Tai for a nourishing and illuminating workshop to support optimal balance for the summer season! In Chinese Medicine, summer is the season of yang and belongs to the element of fire, which governs the heart and mind. When the fire element is in balance, the heart is strong and healthy (joy and vitality), and the mind is calm and sleep is sound. When imbalanced, one might experience a lack of joy, or some degree of agitation, nervousness, heartburn, and insomnia. From an Ayurvedic perspective, summer is associated with the pitta dosha, which can become competitive, impatient, resentful, and intolerant when out of balance.

To support your capacity for ease, joy, and vitality this summer, Tai has crafted a holistic workshop integrating yoga asana, myofascial release work, guided meditation, and a touch of pranayama, chanting, and aromatherapy. Reconnection to the spaciousness of your heart and mind will be supported by unwinding tension in the neck, upper back, and shoulders, and both the heart and third-eye centers (Anahata & Ajna) will be addressed with vibrational sound work (mantra) and guided visualizations.

This workshop is appropriate for practitioners of all levels, and offers the perfect opportunity to align your system for a summer of embodied ease and joy!

Please wear comfortable yoga clothing and expect to do some movement and active work in the upper body, as well more restorative postures and myofascial release work. You may want to bring a journal to capture insights that arise in the workshop, as well as an eye pillow or bandana for the restorative work. Yoga Tune-Up balls are available at the studio, but feel free to bring your own if you have them!
