Seattle Weekly & FunkFarm Presents:

The Mama Rags

The Mama Rags formed in the Fall of 2013 in Seattle, Washington. Inspired by the great rock bands of the late-60s and early-70s heyday, the band seeks to translate the vintage aesthetic of quality rock & roll to a modern-day audience. Combining hard rock with hints of garage, psychedelic, country, and blues, The Mama Rags create a well-rounded and unique sound that leaves you thinking you were born in the wrong era.

Hectic Electric is a debut release that encapsulates the golden-era rock styling of the Mama Rags. On the one hand, you have “Change You”, a catchy pop tune guaranteed to be stuck in your head all day, that was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Don Gehman (R.E.M., Stephen Stills, Neil Young, John Mellencamp). On the other hand, a collection of songs recorded in friend Shawn Fleming’s (King Dude) basement over a December weekend which feature dirty riffs reminiscent of Black Sabbath (Borrowed Time), the sloppy attitude of the Stones (Invite Me Over), and modern garage rock accessibility (Hectic Electric).

Hobosexual

2 Beards, 4 amps, mind of a scientist, and more raw talent than Jesus.
Seattle duo, and “Hair, Teeth & Volume” pioneers Hobosexual have brought rock n roll back to Seattle, 1 riff at a time with their massive sophomore effort LP, Hobosexual II. Hobosexual II finds the band mixing everything from AC/DC to T-Rex into 1 titanic melting pot of a concept album, and walking away with “the weirdest but coolest thing you’ll hear all year”
(Kirk Windus WSBU FM, NY).

Hand of the Hills

"With an all-star cast comprising David Totten (the Quiet Ones, Scriptures), Erin Tate (Minus the Bear), and Matt Benham (Black Swedes), Hand of the Hills make gritty rock 'n' roll that tears it up with shots of twanged-out riffs and slightly dark Southern-style vocals. Perfect for a rowdy bonfire or driving through a thunderstorm in a pickup truck with the windows down."
