“The Two Worlds Of Ms. Anna” says
Local Black author Helen Collier presents the second book in her trilogy “The Two Worlds of Ms. Anna”.

Be part of this stimulating gathering where Ms. Collier will read from the second book in her trilogy, “The Two Worlds of Ms. Anna.” This magical, powerful book is an odyssey of a Black woman’s struggle to find happiness, independence and self-worth in a complex world defined by race. Ms. Anna is trapped between the supernatural world and the harsh realities of her own world she must confront. Collier discusses race and its effect on many love relationships between Black and white people in the U.S. Through the life and death struggles Ms. Anna faces when she returns to her family and community, the reader is reminded of the tragedies domestic violence causes in the lives of children. Collier’s writing invites the reader to examine racism from a different perspective especially when it involves the lives of women. After the reading, there will be time for open discussion.
