Time Out says

This month we have the esteemed privilege of bringing you the official annual celebration of the founding of our favorite trashy gay leather bar, The Seattle Eagle. Founded in 1981, The Seattle Eagle has had a rich and memorable history with the local gay leather community and beyond, and AREA 2181 has been proud to assist in the kinky renaissance it's currently having. So come out and help us party it up for the 34th anniversary in cruisey, sexy, trashy, sweaty style. We have a lot in store for you this month, so you can't miss it - this is a birthday party after all, and birthdays are a most special occasion indeed. ++++++ AREA 2181 ++++++ Every third Saturday Lavender Underground presents AREA 2181, a twisted cruising party created for gay men from all walks of life. We wanted to make a night where all sorts of men who love men can come together and mix with each other in a discreet, raunchy environment where guys can feel comfortable that their shit's not gonna end up on the internet, where prying eyes are not allowed...except for the hot fucker across the room. Doesn't matter if you're black or white, closeted or out, chiseled or husky, 21 or 81. You're ALL studs in our eyes, so show us what you're made of. +++ RESIDENT DJ PAVONE +++ DEREK PAVONE has been making asses shake up and down the West Coast for nearly a decade. While he has been known primarily as a disco DJ, AREA 2181 will see him stepping away from his classic sound and into the darker corners of house, acid and techno. +++ GUEST DJ ROB WINTER +++ ROB WINTER has been playing for packed crowds for 15 years, from Q and Last Supper Club, to his residency at Chapel, and numerous venues in the Midwest. His unique mix of chunky Chicago bass, forward thinking techno grooves, and symphonic builds are a perfect fit for 2181. +++ GUEST DJ ALMOND BROWN +++ ALMOND BROWN has been leveling up his skills in rooms large and small and made his name on the national scene. As former resident DJ of Q Rapture Saturdays and frequent headliner of parties as diverse as Flammable and Quiver at Rebar, Train Car House Party, Red Dress Party, the Bump, Soft Option at the Monkey Loft, and Proper at Electric Tea Garden, Almond has shown his affinity for big room sounds as well as deep sexy house that makes you want to lose your inhibitions. He has also kept busy producing and remixing tracks for the likes of Inaya Day, John LePage, Paul Goodyear, Sudad G and the Village People, as well as co-hosting "Now Serving," Seattle's premier internet radio talk show about dance music, culture, politics and the art of not giving a fuck.
