Turning The Tables says
Standing in solidarity with Pina Orsillo-Belgrano for this SYMBOLIC action “Turning the Tables”

Unite, Engage, Reclaim, together 'We The People are Unstoppable"

Please join Valley & Mountain and SAFE (Standing Against Foreclosure & Evictions) WA Housing Justice Network in participating in a modified Stations of the Cross as we walk with Pina and her journey through the ENGINEERED, FRAUDULENT, Deceitful Behavior of the Banks, the fraud at the Recorder office & the City Officials neglect to act to this Eight-Year battles of Illegal Foreclosures DEVASTATING our communities EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Why this day? The faith community, Valley & Mountain, commemorates a generally unrecognized day that of Jesus OVERTURNING THE TABLES OF THE MONEY CHANGERS in the Jerusalem Temple the day after Palm Sunday and before getting Crucified.

(Matthew 21:13 Jesus cleanses the Temple - And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers ..And He said to them, "MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER, but you are making it a ROBBERS' DEN.")

Given the fact that the Temple was the focal point of the intersecting mechanisms of power exercised by religious and political elite, it’s widely posited that this subversive and symbolic action directly precipitated his arrest and execution.

The entry into Jerusalem, the last supper, crucifixion, and resurrection all have their special day, but the church has neglected to institute a day of celebrating this momentous act of highlighting and upsetting that which exploits. Instead of expending energy bemoaning this omission, we would much prefer to generate something instead.

We will gather outside the 5th Ave entrance of City Hall at 3:30pm and end at JP Chase at 5pm. If you can’t make it at those times, at 4:00pm we will be at 4th Ave entrance to City Hall, 4:10pm we will be at the Recorder’s Office, then at JP Chase at 4:30pm, and conclude outside of JP Chase Morgan Chase bank at 4:50pm.

If you have any questions, please email Irene (irenedemaris@gmail.com) who is Valley & Mountain’s Creative Liberation Convener. We will be updating the event over the next few weeks.
