US Air Guitar says
The Annual Air Guitar Competition is a world-wide, celebrated event that has been astounding audiences and melting faces since 1995. The US caught on to this rocking phenomena back in 2003, and since then we have taken home the World Championships' Gold four times. Through your participation, whether as a hardcore competitor or an enthusiastic fan, you can help produce an amazing 2016 US Air Guitar Seattle Qualifier!

The Qualifier will consist of two rounds. In Round 1, each competitor performs to a song of his/her own choosing. In Round 2, the top competitors from Round 1 perform to a surprise, compulsory song. In each round, contestants perform for one minute of a song and are judged on a combination of technical merit, stage presence, and “airness”. All guitars must be invisible. Three guest judges, to include well-known, esteemed members of the Seattle community, have already been selected to judge competitors' performance, and crown the Seattle Qualifier Champ. The results of the judges cannot be protested, however, the undying support of the audience should not be underestimated, for it plays an important part in the decision-making process.

The first and second place winners from the Seattle Air Guitar Qualifier will be provided travel fare to US Air Guitar Championships - Portland, scheduled for 17 June. The top winners of the Semifinals will then move on to compete in the US Air Guitar National Championships in August, and the first place winner of Nationals will then be sent to Oulu, Finland later that month to represent the USA in the World Championships!

So come on down to the Lo-Fi on 27 May! Whether you're there to compete, cheer on your favorite air guitarist, or just felt like having a few drinks and checking out something that sounded super awesome (which, it totally is), help us make this an epic year for the Seattle Air Guitar Community!
