What Does It Mean To Be Table Flipping Disciples?

In the final week before his death, Jesus went into the temple, turned over the tables of the money changers, and drove out the people buying and selling offerings. Jesus responded in anger and protested a system that exploited the poor and marginalized. European Dissent (a white, anti-racist group working in accountable relationship with groups led by people of color) would like to invite you, your communities of faith, and anyone who hears the call to seek justice, to bring this scripture and an antiracist lens together to engage in this event. Please join us on Saturday, March 21st from 10am-Noon at Plymouth Church Seattle. We will come together to examine our place in this story and how we are called to respond to it as faithful people. We will also share plans for a Holy Table Turning Monday prayerful noontime action on March 30th at the start of Holy Week. Whether you believe Jesus was the Messiah or a great teacher, all are welcome, so please help spread the word!
