Yaw Amponsah and James Whetzel are pleased to invite you to the album release show for the album “Go to Fly” by their group Who Is John Smith.

The album release show will be at The Royal Room, 5000 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118 in Columbia City.

Show begins at 9pm.

Cover charge is a suggested donation of $5-$15 to the musicians.

It will be an excellent evening of African music.

Who Is John Smith:

Inspired by the music of the legendary Ghanaian artist Koo Nimo, Who Is John Smith makes new-style acoustic palm wine guitar music live in Seattle, WA. Yaw Amponsah, who plays rumba box and high hat, is Koo Nimo's son. James Whetzel, who sings and plays guitar, learned palm wine guitar music from Koo Nimo in Ghana and in the USA. James also learned palm wine guitar music from the late great Nigerian artist I. K. Dairo.

Anokye Agofomma:

Anokye Agofomma is a group that performs traditional music of the Asante and other peoples of Ghana. Based in Seattle, the group is led and directed by Yaw Amponsah, son of Ghanaian music legend Koo Nimo.

Eckaman and Super Mokako:

Dynamic Congolese rumba music AKA Soukous group led by Eckaman Ngondo from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
