Time Out says

Several women wearing similar black mini dresses are standing,  leaning slightly against each other. This painting series is so elegant and stylish that one could liken it to a fashion editorial. For more than  60 years, American artist Alex Katz has been painting portraits of the people around him and who are connected to his life. From the 1950s, when abstract art was still very popular in America, Katz started to work  on figure paintings in his own unique style. Instead of drawing every detail he could see, he captured the person's features and  feelings and depicted them in bold colors and soft tones. The figures on his canvases do not show dramatic emotions and yet they emit their own sentiments and personalities. Katz's Vivien in Black Hat  might be his most  well-known artwork amongst Koreans. It clearly shows his style and how his lines lucidly create a figure. This artist, who just turned 89 this year, is one of The Top 10 Living Artists of 2015 selected by one of the biggest online art platforms in the world, ARTSY. Along with Cindy Sherman, Yoko Ono and Damien Hirst, Alex Katz has led the world's contemporary art  scene. This is your chance to see some of the most elegant and modern portraits ever.
