French critic Tzvetan Todorov once said: “The fantastic is that hesitation experienced by a person who knows only the laws of nature, confronting an apparently supernatural event.” What he’s describing will not be far from what you’ll experience at Juri Lee’s exhibit. The unnatural, bold colors and bizarre drawings are unfamiliar but not uncomfortable. The exhibit reflects the artist’s questions about the origins of life and her rich imagination.
