Introducing a photo festival under the idiom “a picture is worth a thousand words” may be cliché, but it may be especially pertinent with the KIPF this year taking on the theme of “Photos Speak.” Now in its third year, the festival will feature over 100 artists from seven different countries (Spain, England, France, Singapore, Germany, China and Australia) in addition to the local work that’ll be on display. One highlight of the photo festival will include a special exhibition with Korean modern rock singer Hahn Dae-soo, who attended the New York Institute of Photography in 1967. Among international photographers, there will be Julio Galeote, a Spanish photographer who just exhibited at The Photographers Gallery, and U.K.-based portrait photographer, Marta Kochanek, who has recently finished her exhibition at Tate Modern.
