Art Show & Exhibit: "Influenced By Keith Haring"

Hey friends. As you may or may not know, I've recently been shooting out of Corey Woodruff's new photo studio, CW Studios. Our space is in the 2222 Art Studios, alongside several other artists of various mediums, including Peat Wollaeger. Not only does Peat put out loads of work from the space, he also clears his walls and curates one night art shows, featuring a mix of artists from near and far. There's a great summary of the night's happenings listed below, but basically he's throwing an opening for his next exhibit on Saturday March 21st, and has asked me to be involved on this go round. He's got some artists coming in from the east coast...some St Louisans...pretty sure that 4 Hands will be keeping us hydrated... art....neighbors.....it's sure to be a good way to spend a Saturday. I wanted let you know this was going on and extend an invite your way. It'd be fun to have you there...and you're sure to see some really excellent work that all these folks are putting together. It will be in celebration of the life of Keith Haring whom passed away 25 years ago this month. The show will feature artists influenced by Haring’s work. EXHIBITING ARTISTS: The show will feature a poster by Eric Orr whom just celebrated his 30th anniversary of Chalk collaborations with Haring in the subways of New York...one of the only artists to collaborate with Keith underground. Bred in Brooklyn during the 1980’s Dave Ortiz Saw haring work everywhere, During the past 8-9 months David Ortiz has created a new body of work entirely dedicated to the fine line that exists between drawing and painting and they are very influenced by Haring’s lines. Dave is one of the Original players of the ZooYork brand, Co.Founder and creator of the brand Dave's Quality M3AT and Also partners in Dave's Wear House and ANOTHERWHIP bike Co. And if that isn’t busy enough about to launch a Vodka brand with Absolut called Our/Vodka and he will be part of the New York chapter of this new brand. (Artist is flying in for opening) St. Louis’ own pop art diva Charlie Houska who's work is colorful, bold, intense art that commands attention and triggers a smile with the essence and influence of Keith Haring as well. Peat Wollaeger will also display a collaboration of Keith Haring STOP AIDS signs that he recently collaborated with “URnewYork” at fundraiser for the “Lust For Life” Campaign at Urban Outfitters in NYC last month. St Louis based photographer, Nate Burrell, will be collaborating with Peat Eyez and doing a unique series of live double exposure portraits for the exhibit's guests. You choose one of two Eyez patterns...Nate will snap your portrait and work his double exposure magic and you can get an original signed print from both artists!
