Wednesday, October 19, 2016 | Doors 6:30 pm | Concert 7:00 pm | $10

Join the World Chess Hall of Fame as we welcome Cortango Orquesta, a tango ensemble with a symphonic twist. Cortango Orquesta is a concert and dance band featuring members of the Saint Louis Symphony. Founded and led by Cally Banham, a trained social Tango dancer, Cortango specializes in popular classics from the beloved orchestra leaders of Tango's golden era.

Cortango is named for the "Cor anglais" or "English horn" - the atypical instrument in this otherwise orquesta tipica! Their songbook comes entirely from original arrangements made by members of the band, and by Argentine bandoneon player and Tango arranger, Julian Hasse.

Reservations are required. $5 Tickets available for members, seniors, and military. One free drink ticket and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

Metered on-street parking is available, as well as paid lots adjacent to Kingside Diner and at the Schlafly Library.
