More Less
My name is Strong says
An opportunity for community members to create, heal, and resist, and participate in a local anti-violence community arts initiative. No arts experience necessary! Participant works will be featured in the My name is Strong exhibition at Yeyo Arts, 2907 S Jefferson, opening on Friday, November 6th.
What makes you feel strong?
What does your intersectionality look like?
A drawing to heal
A poem to protest
A manifesto to overcome
A song to sing truth to power

Through a constellation of creations, we hope to turn the complex webs of

gender-based violence power-based violence trauma
institutionalized oppression racism classism sexism generational poverty

into a connected tapestry of human strength.

If you cannot attend the workshop, you can still participate by attending another workshop (message for details) or by creating with your own communities!

Email inquiries, written or recorded works, or questions about coordinating drop off to; mail submissions to "My Name Is Strong", c/o Rachel Sacks, Goldfarb Hall 46, 1 Brookings Drive, St. Louis, MO 63130.

We request that works be submitted by October 3.
