Re Elect Brian Adler To Su Senate says
Hi everyone! I'm running for re-election to my Senate seat for Student Union.

In the last term, I focused primarily on mental healthcare for the student body. I've succeeded in not only unanimously passing a Senate resolution that dictates WashU to upgrade its technical infrastructure for SHS, but also to create a formal communication channel between administration and SHS officials and myself. With this body, we have set the goal to continually find new and innovative ways to reduce mental health appointment wait times at SHS.

But the most exciting part is what this prompted the administration to do. In response to the resolution, the administration is hiring 5 new doctors within the next 3 years to deal with the long wait times for mental health. Further, we are researching an application for phones to reduce no shows as another method. In the future, I will be looking into giving students an option to get referrals that are within a "Metro Radius", thereby making it easy for students to see these doctors. I am also researching Wellness Coaching with data from another university to look into how this can be implemented as a preventative method to needing to use mental health appointments in the first place.

Apart from mental health, I have also been the Co-Chair of the Campus Safety Task Force. We are researching ways to improve campus preparedness for active shooting situations, and are in contact with WUPD to achieve this goal with more information to be released in the future.

I am also working with other senators currently to look into improving resources and access to the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention organization on campus.

I truly hope to have the opportunity and pleasure to continue this work I am so proud of. Please share this event with your friends and give me your vote on November 8th!
