10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Herpetarium

In honor of World Turtle Day®, join us at the Herpetarium for kids activities. During your visit to the Herpetarium you can make a turtle hat, talk to a keeper, and learn about ways that you can help protect turtles. You can also learn about the #byetobags program and take the pledge to switch to reusable bags in order to keep our oceans clean for sea turtles & all ocean animals! Together, we can ensure a future for turtles.

World Turtle Day is an annual observance to foster appreciation of, and protection for, turtles and tortoises. They play vital roles in our ecosystems, yet many turtle and tortoise species are rapidly disappearing as a result of over-collection (for food, traditional medicine and pets), habitat destruction, global warming, disease and other threats.
