Hundreds of Oktoberfest celebrations pop up across the United States every year, but none carry the authentic stamp of Bavaria quite like this one. For the first time, two of Munich's most iconic names—FC Bayern, Germany's record soccer champions, and Paulaner, Germany's most popular brewery—are joining forces to bring a true Oktoberfest experience to New York City.
The celebration will take place on Friday, September 18, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM ET at Time Out Market Union Square, bringing the authentic beer, music, food, and camaraderie that have made Oktoberfest one of Bavaria's greatest cultural exports.
As part of the festivities, guests will be able to watch FC Bayern stars take on Union Berlin live on big screens courtesy of Bundesliga broadcaster Fandango, who is marking the start of their coverage of Germany's top-flight soccer league. The match kicks off live at 2:30 PM ET.
Fresh Paulaner beer will be served throughout the day, lending the event a truly traditional feel as one of only six breweries officially permitted to serve beer at the original Oktoberfest in Munich. In addition, Time Out Market vendors will feature specially curated Oktoberfest-themed dishes to pair with your brew.
Classic Football Shirts will also host an exclusive pop-up shop on-site, offering rare retro jerseys, current season kits, and the official FC Bayern Oktoberfest special-edition jersey. Attendees can expect a full day of traditional Bavarian games, stein-hoisting challenges, and live DJ sets.
Admission is free with an RSVP, and group table bookings require a minimum spend. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear traditional Bavarian dress, including lederhosen and dirndls!
